Comment to a colleague article "DUMP TRUMP?


On Friday November 9, 2018, one of my classmates post an article titled “DUMP TRUMP.” which is intended to all Americans. The article is to raise awareness about the negativity of the actions of President Trump.
 I’m not a supporter of President Trump, but I do not put all the blame on him concerning the racism and the discrimination that the minority people are enduring in US. Trump is just one of the million of people who said loud what they are thinking and saying on their couch. The black suffered racism and discrimination before Trump. Don’t think that he is “Dump” as you said. He is smart than you think. Trump did not come and create any of the issues you talked about, because you know that they were there and functioning as well. The damage exists, but what are we doing about it?  it takes an individual effort required from all of us to stand up to promote tolerance and inclusion. We must reject the idea of violence defining who we are. We need to break the chain and create a tolerant society and show the way to the next generation. There is no middle ground, one is either part of the problem or part of the solution. Which side are you?

Ending Birthright citizenship to children of undocumented immigrants?


Should the Us government end the birthright citizenship to children of undocumented immigrants?

The 14th Amendment Section I of US Constitution states that: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” The constitution of US is strong and clear. If we abide with the constitution as the supreme law, we should respect the document with proud and dignity. US should not take away the Birthright citizenship. Kids born to illegal immigrant on US territories should be granted citizenship. And if they are born and grown up here, how are they less American than anyone else? Those kids are innocent that did not decide where or when to be born. It was granted by the Constitution, a command of the highest law of the land. Some people arguing that Birthright citizenship is a misinterpretation of the 14th amendment. Misinterpretation or not, we should not take away this right. Many of the birthright citizens has and continuing to contribute to the thriving of this nation. Children of immigrants are legally equal to any other American, they can assimilate well. Ending birthright citizenship would create a whole new problem of stateless children loss and victimized for generations to come.
